The set decorated with flying cranes and plum trees in gold, silver and brown takamaki-e, black and red hiramaki-e and gold and silver foil on a plain wood ground stained red-brown, comprising: a square tray, decorated on the sides with lattice work in gold lacquer and pierce-cut, the top lacquered with a crane and a plum tree next to a stream in gold, silver, red, black and brown togidashi and nashiji; a rectangular drawer containing five rectangular sweet trays with togidashi and nashiji plum trees; a four-tier food box; a wine ewer designed with plum florets and panels of plants in togidashi sumi-e or gold and silver takamaki-e, nashiji and gold foil, the spout and handle with gold lacquer scrolling vines and the cover gold, silver and red lappets, set onto a rectangular covered box; the frame carved with decorative scroll on the ends and pierce-carved cherry-blossom apertures; corners of frame applied with gold foil and metal brackets carved with vines
