Designed in gold, brown, black and red takamaki-e on a kinji ground with Rosei asleep on a raised platform beneath a paulownia tree, a fan covering his face, the reverse with a large stand of peonies and two gilt-metal inlaid butterflies, the rocks dusted with kinpun, risers nashiji with black-lacquer interiors, the bottom case separated into four compartments; fitted with a cloisonné enamel ojime
