Edo period (18th-19th century), signed Shunsho and sealed Kagemasa
Of oval section and lacquered in gold, silver, brown, red and black takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with crushed-shell inlays and kirigane with a mounted warrior beneath a red maple tree, all on a glossy black ground, the interior cases nashiji; with a coral bead ojime and a metal netsuke cast as a samurai helmet
