Kim graduated from Hong Ik Unversity in Seoul in 1978. He had one-person exhibitions at the Fine Arts Center, Seoul, in 1988 and at Park Ryu-Sook Gallery, Seoul, in 1999 and 2000. He is currently a professor at Hong Ik University.
