NEW YORK CITY, POSSIBLY THE SHOP OF DUNCAN PHYFE, 1800-1820

The history of this sofa can be traced through the inscriptions present on existing period upholstery; it appears to have resided in the Northeast until the end of the nineteenth century before it moved across the country to California in the early twentieth century.
