BLADE IRAN, 18TH CENTURY; MOUNTS CENTRAL INDIA, CIRCA 1800
The curving single-edged watered steel blade plain save for a maker's inscription on one side, the curving pistol-grip hilt with horn facings attached with gilt rosettes, the gilt-bronze quillons engraved with diagonal rows of floral motifs on a densely pounced ground, the red velvet covered wooden sheath with locket, chape and two support rings all decorated en suite with the quillons, generally good condition
