NORTH EAST IRAN, 12TH CENTURY
Of hemispherical form on spreading trumpet foot, the domed cover rising in the centre to a pronounced pointed ball finial, a band of delicate engraved scrolling vine around a continuous naskh silver inlaid inscription around the rim, cusped crescent roundels filled with engraved foliage alternating with similar smaller rosettes below, the cover with similar alternating roundels and rosettes, overall green-black patination, silver mostly remaining
6¾in. (17.2cm.) diam.
