Gouache heightened with gold on paper, one miniature shows Afrasiyab watching a battle between two horsemen, one with a lasso; the other shows Rustam in battle with the Chinese emperor and the defeat of that emperor, with Rustam pulling the rider of an elephant of his mount, with curiously dressed dark-skinned elephant riders in the background and observers on the other side with black hats; each miniature with four columns of black nasta'liq, trimmed to inner margin, slightly rubbed, glazed each side
