the former of tapering circular form and on a domed circular foot, engraved with a crest and with applied openwork scrolling foliate handles, the body applied with a broad frieze incorporating masks, cornucopiae, lions and vines, Stephen Smith, London 1873, the underside impressed with a patent registration mark - 8½in. (21.50cm.) overall, the silver-gilt sifting spoon with cast openwork scrolling foliate terminal and shell-fluted bowl, Martin Hall & Co., Sheffield - 15.50oz.
