A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED CORNE VERTE BRACKET CLOCK
Mid-18th century
The circular enamel dial with Roman and Arabic chapters signed Martineau a Rouen, with red chalk # 79355 to back of case and bracket, within a waisted case surmounted by a rocaille vase form finial, over a tapering bracket, lacking back, losses and replacements to horn

Lot Essay
The signature on this clock is probably that of of Jérôme Martineau, active circa 1740-1760. A bronze and ormolu elephant clock by Martineau is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
