GUIGAL

The name of the now famous wine producer Guigal in the village of Ampuis is now the stuff of legend. A remarkable feat for a producer who only established themselves in 1946. In Côte-Rôtie especially they have few rivals and have been a leading light in both the vineyard and the winery. Quality here is of the highest level.

Côte-Rôtie--Vintage 1999
Rhône, Guigal
"It is a fragrant, soft, medium-bodied effort revealing notes of violets, licorice, and jammy cherry as well as currant fruit presented in a sweet, medium to full-bodied style. Seductive and lush, it is impossible to resist. Consume it over the next 10-12 years." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Issue 147
