the case modelled as a bejewelled Indian girl seated on a howdah on the elephant's back, on rising rectangular base with square section foliate feet, the petal-shaped dial with individual white enamel Roman chapters and black painted spade hands, the twin going barrel movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, one foot detached, French last quarter 19th century -- 20½in.(52cm.) high
