The silver-green field containing delicate flowering palmette vine issuing from decorative vases, metal-thread inscription cartouche panels above and below, around a central ivory prayer shaped panel filled with bold entwined scrolling arabesques and flowering palmette vine issuing from a decorative urn, in a shaded apricot border of scrolling vine and alternately coloured metal-thread inscription and floral motif panels decorated with seed-pearls between sky-blue and burgundy inscription cartouche minor stripes, minute areas of localised wear, missing a few seed-pearls, selvages fraying

Lot Essay
The use of small quantities of seed pearls at the centre of some of the motifs, particularly in the border, is a most unusual feature. There is no doubt that they were a part of the original design.
