NORTH WEST PERSIA, DATED SHAMSI 1313/1935 AD
The shaded rust-red field with an overall design of dense flowering palmette vine around shaped olive-green and light green cartouche panels and mid-blue and mint-green lozenge medallions containing delicate strapwork entwined with flowering vine terminating in split-palmettes, in a broad indigo densely flowering vine and vase design border with perching birds and paired animals between a multicoloured cartouche panel inner stripe and geometric moulded outer stripe, short original kilim strip at each end embriodered with minute flowerheads, full pile throughout, very light surface stains
