A GROUP OF COPTIC TEXTILE FRAGMENTS

Including a long tunic tasselled border fragment, dark purple, with a male and female figure, above which sets of three lions within roundels, divided by two single frontally facing figures under arching garlands, with interlaced borders, 35 x 7¾ in. (89 x 19.7 cm.) max.; another fringed tunic fragment with three frontal dancing figures, the clavus infilled above with four rows of stylized figures, 39 x 8¼ in. (99 x 21 cm.) max.; three tunic fragments with brightly coloured red, green, blue, ochre and purple foliate motifs around a central petalled rosette, 30 x 20 in. (76.2 x 51 cm.) max.; and a group of other tunic fragments, including two border sections each with a running hound(a lot)
