A George III mahogany longcase clock
with broken pediment centred by an urn finial, fluted outset columns to the hood, fluted pilasters to the trunk, the wavy-topped door satinwood line-inlaid and centred by a floral bouquet patera against a harewood reserve, further panel below inlaid with a conch shell, and conforming decoration to the plinth on bracket feet, some cracking to veneer on trunk, backboard strengthened, the brass dial with foliate spandrels, the brass chapter ring within engraved borders signed indistinctly for a DUBLIN maker, the matted centre with engraved border and subsidiary seconds ring, pierced and engraved gilt hands, with aperture for calendar (lacking), the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; case and movement associated -- 88½in.(225cm.) high
