the break arch case with chamfered angles to the sides, the trunk with conforming chamfered angles and break arch door, on plinth with panel and bracket feet with wavy apron between, the cream painted wooden dial with convex raised chapter ring, painted with columns trailing foliage to the sides and attributes above, the arch mounted with four painted wood soldiers (with sword, drum, trumpet and bugle respectively), against a later painted forest scene arched backboard, the wood frame movement with brass wheels, with 22 keys playing through 20 graduated pipes on the 13¾in.(35cm.) long wooden pin barrel movement, German, early 19th century -- 93in.(236cm.) high
