the case with flat top surmounted by fluted urn finials, foliate carving to the door arch and fluted cluster columns to the sides, with pierced metal sound frets, the trunk with fluted pilasters with composite capitals on polygonal supports to the base, the arched panelled door with profuse foliate carving, a further panel below with conforming decoration, the bras dial with foliate spandrels, incised matted centre, with further spandrels to the arch flanking an engraved sunburst roundel, the substantial four pillar movement with anchor escapement, with pin barrel chiming on 12 bells with 12 hammers and hour strike on bell to the backplate -- 87in.(222cm.) high
