with shaped rectangular top and turned pedestal base, painted in red with three flower heads and leaf sprays with gilt edges --6¼in. (16cm.) long (damage to top)

Lot Essay

These alabaster pieces usually comes with a matching tea set. They often appear in many 18th century baby houses, sometimes painted in turquoise, green or dark blue. There is one in both Uppark and Anne Sharp's house.
