BOVET. A SILVER GILT, ENAMEL AND PEARL-SET OPENFACE DUPLEX WATCH WITH CENTRE SECONDS, MADE FOR THE CHINESE MARKET

With gilt-finished movement highly engraved throughout with scrolling motifs, duplex escapement, plain steel balance with blued steel halberd-style weights, glazed dust cover, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer ring with Arabic fifteen minute divisions, blued steel spade hands, centre seconds, reversing to a painted polychrome enamel scene depicting a lionhunt in India with a man on horseback shooting at a lion attacking a fallen man, two armed men riding an elephant charging towards them in the background, in circular case with milled band, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split pearls, case and movement signed with the Chinese characters for Bovet
