A Staffordshire pottery group and three spill-vases
CIRCA 1850-60
The group modelled as Mr. Hemming as Prince Alamansor, with an elephant standing in front of a castle rescuing Prince Alamansor from a window, on a gilt-lined shaped oval base; a spill possibly of Lady Hester Stanhope and Dr. Meryon, modelled with a lady seated on top of a bridge before a tree, a man wearing Turkish dress to her side, on a mound above a shaped oval mound base (small chips and some flaking to enamels); an equestrain figure group modelled as two exotic companions, he seated on a stallion, she standing to his side, before a domed mosque and trees, on a shaped mound and gilt-lined base (minor restoration and overpainting); a spill-vase modelled as Rachel and Jacob, the young girl and old man standing before a hollow tree, on a shaped oval mound base (some minor surface wear)
