A rare late 18th-Century lacquered-brass Withering-type simple microscope,
unsigned, with three objectives screwed together on a circular brass plate held on two brass columns from the circular base, the stage on sleeves moving up and down the columns, with live box and ivory-handled scalpel, the base with tilting plane mirror, in a red leatherette-covered cylindrical card case -- 8.9cm. (3½in.) high
