An unusual late 19th/early 20th-Century magnifying micrometer instrument,
by ELLIOT BROTHERS LONDON, comprising a vertical body-tube with rack and pinion adjustment and graduated micrometer wheel for cross-hair adjustment, mounted on a horizontal rectangular brass plate with fine-screw adjustment in two directions, each with 3-inch scale and vernier, the other end of the plate mounted on a heavy cast-iron base, in a mahogany case with wooden carrying handle -- 40.4cm. (15 7/8in.) wide
