A 19th-Century polished-brass compound binocular microscope,
signed BAKER LONDON, the body-tubes with eyepieces adjusted by rack and pinion, two prism drawers (empty), sprung nosepiece extension and triple-objective mount, held on a horizontal bar from the main triangular-section pillar, with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, and screw clamp, the simple stage with substage condensor with a Baker-signed lens, diaphragm and filter mounts (one retaining screw broken) and plano-concave substage mirror, tilting on a raised Y-shaped stand with clamp and one (of three) circular brass feet -- 40.4cm.
