A 19th-Century lacquered-brass 1¾-inch table telescope,
signed Philip, Brighton, the 19-inch long body-tube with lens cap and rack and pinion focusing to the eyepiece extension tube with smoked-glass lens, mounted via a compass joint to a brass column with three folding inswept feet
