unsigned, the glazed compass with circumference scale, steel needle and clamp, the 8½-inch diameter half-circle graduated 0-180° in both directions, with two sights, the alidade with two further sights, a brass circle on the back mounted with a clamping screw atop an extending brass column and circular base
