A good 19th-Century oxidised and lacquered-brass mining dial,
signed STANLEY GT TURNSTILE HOLBORN LONDON , no.94165, with 9-inch long telescope with bubble level, rack and pinion focusing, lens cap and cross-hair adjustment screws, mounted on two detachable supports on the ring around the 5½-inch gimballed compass with brass cap, twin bubble levels, edgebar needle and clamp, attached to a vernier arm to read off the vertical half-circle on the outer ring, raised on a staff mounting, with twin alidades to replace the telescope, in a fitted mahogany case -- 30.9cm. (1 1/8in.) wide
