A 20th-Century 5½-inch diameter mariner's celestial globe,
CARY & C.O Makers to the Admiralty 7 PALL MALL LONDON. made up of twelve printed yellow gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, the colures and ecliptic graduated in degrees, the stars shown to five orders of magnitude ( only the major constellations labelled), with stamped brass meridian circle and horizon and a removable four-quadrant frame with two stamped altitude quadrants, the horizon stamped CARY, LONDON PATENT No 21540, in a mahogany case, the inside of the lid with paper instructions -- 22.1cm. (8¾in.) wide
