Details
A well engineered model live steam powered threshing set,
built by N.C. King, comprising a 1½in. scale Allchin single cylinder two speed four shaft general purpose traction engine 'Royal Chester' with brazed copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, water lift, clack and blowdown valves and provision for compressed air operation. Engine details include: cylinder 1in. bore x 1½in. stroke, ratchet operated lubricator, draincocks and pipes, Stephenson's link reverse, belt driven pickering governor, eccentric driven feed pump, two roadspeeds and spoked flywheel. Chassis details include spoked, straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, sprung front axle, damper, cable drum and fairleads, water lift, band brake to third shaft, wooden footbroad with tool box under, finished in black, red and polished brightwork -- 42 x 65cm. (16½ x 25½in.); and a working threshing drum constructed mainly of wood with belt drive, spoked metal wheels, turning lock, 'A' frame draw bar, strakers, elevator, shakers, sieves, blower, walk boards, sacks and many other details, finished in red and varnish -- 40.5 x 76.2cm.
