The mark of Charles-Louis Mèreaud le jeune, recorded at Sèvres 1756-1780 as a painter of flowers and patterns, is often found on frises riches decoration incorporating shells, fronds, and a seeded ground. For another example of the same form, see The Estates of David M. Daniels and Stevan Beck Baloga, Christie's New York, 18 October, 2002, lot 419.
