Lot Essay

In its form and style of decoration, this commode is typical of Sicilian mid-18th century production. A closely related example with red and polychrome decoration is is illustrated in M. Giarrizzo and A. Rotolo, Mobili e Mobilieri Nella Sicilia del Settecento, Palermo, 1992, fig. 20, p. 77.
