This console table relates to various side tables in the Quirinale, Rome. Particularly characteristic is the winged mask to the front leg that is found on numerous aprons of side tables (A. González-Palacios, I Mobili Italiani, Milan, 1996, cat. 44 and 47), while the grotesque masks emerging from the baroque scrolls to the side legs similarly feature prominently on several examples (González-Palacios, ibid., cats. 46 and 47)
