Modelled seated on a grassy mound edged with gilt foliate scrolls, the underside with a smear glaze

Lot Essay

The use of the crowned CT mark associated with the Frankenthal factory in conjunction with an impressed Bavarian shield mark associated with the Nymphenburg factiry relates to the fact that Nymphenburg bought Frankenthal's moulds when that factory went out of business in 1800.
