Each with a rounded rectangular tapering jardinere with satinwood and amaranth banding around a stained burr elm faux-panelled center, resting on four bronze animal-paw feet, the bookcase bases two shelves within a rounded rectangular case, similarly panelled to the jardinieres, on a conforming platform base, finished on both sides, previously with further feet, with pencil inscriptions to shelves haut, basse, and 2i, refreshment to the staining
