Lot Essay

According to the account book of Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia this form was not developed from the antique but more probably from a French porcelain factory, probably Sèvres. From 1832 it was produced in nine different sizes.
The Von Klitzing family, was bestowed with the rights on the Estate of Demerthin, near Kyritz and Wusterhausen, in the Brandenburg Prignitz, by Friedrich der Jüngere, Markgraf of Brandenburg, in 1438. Demerthin was owned by the Von Klitzing family till 1945, when Brandenburg was occupied by the Soviets and the Noble Estates were confiscated.
