Lot Essay

Victor Chinnery 'Oak Furniture, The British Tradition' Woodbridge 1979, page 263, fig. 3.79a shows the original 16th century model on which this stool is based. The author notes that in inventories this stool is recorded as 'three-footed' or 'three-cornered'.
