After a design by Schinkel, the broad fruit-bowl formed as a pierced basket, the exterior stave-work in celadon trimmed in gilt, above a band of gilt egg-and-dart pattern, fitted in a shallow concave mount supported by three addorsed parcel-gilt biscuit sphinxes, on a stepped tripartite base, the foot enamelled with celadon 'jewels'
