The inkstand of compressed baluster form, with two stylised dragon handles balanced on extended berry branches, domed and hinged cover and spire finial, richly 'jewelled' in turquoise, ruby and white with flowerheads and foliage amongst gilt scrolling leaves, flowering branches and dot-pattern cartouches, the stand similarly decorated with continuous heart-shaped cartouches and suspended foliage, within gilt rims
