A PAIR OF ORMOLU-MOUNTED FRENCH SEVRES STYLE TURQUOISE-GROUND CANDELABRA

Each of baluster form, painted on both sides with a lush basket of flowers on a marble ledge before a landscape, each oval panel reserved on the turquoise ground within a rocaille cartouche of diaper pattern, pierced shells, foliate scrolls and flowers, the neck gilt with interlaced garlands of flowers and grasses, the everted mouth fitted with a removeable bouquet of seven gilt bronze stalks of day lilies, the uppermost blossom of each fitted with a candle nozzle in place of stamens and pistils, the ormolu handles as scrolling fruiting grape vines resting on the shoulder of the vase and issuing from pilaster terminals terminating in grape clusters and suspending fixed berried laurel garlands, the fluted socle within a similar wreath and further square base raised on bracket feet applied at each canted corner
