Of krater form, acid-etched front and back with Bacchic figures, surrounded by scrolling foliage and anthemions, the rims and handles trimmed with classical patterns and enriched in gilt, raised on three ball feet

Lot Essay

A punch-set similarly decorated and exhibited by the Cristallerie de Baccarat at the Paris Fair of 1867 is in the Corning Museum of Glass (see Jane Shadel Spillman, 'Glass from the World's Fairs 1851-1904' Exhibition Catalogue, 1986, p. 23, fig. 8).
