A Napoleon III silvered and gilt-bronze three-piece garniture
The clock movement by Grignon-Meusnier, Paris, Third quarter 19th Century
Comprising a double-sided clock and a pair of eight-light candelabra: the clock surmounted by three Bacchic putti, above a pierced rocaille-cast case, one side centred by an enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, inscribed GRIGNON-MEUNSIER/A PARIS, the other side with an ormolu dial with enamelled Roman chapters and twin-train movement engraved GRIGNON-MEUNSIER/Paris, the candelabra modelled en suite, each with a putto holding aloft foliate-cast candlearms

Lot Essay
The Parisian clockmaker Grignon-Meusnier is recorded working on the rue d'Anjou between 1840 and 1850, and on the rue Charlot in 1860.
