A Regence style ormolu-mounted rosewood bureau plat
In the manner of Charles Cressent, Second half 19th Century
The rectangular ormolu-moulded top set with a gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface, the corners clasped with foliate grotesque masks, above a shaped frieze fitted with a central recessed drawer applied with a satyr mask flanked by gadrooned chutes and a drawer to each side, the reverse with similarly-decorated apparent drawers, the sides with bearded masks, on espagnolette-headed cabriole legs tapering to paw feet
31½ in. (80 cm.) high; 76½ in. (194.3 cm.) wide; 40¼ in. (102.2 cm.) deep
