The bronze patterns for this vitrine were produced in the late 1890s, and Linke used the model as the basis for a slightly larger enhanced version (index number 905), an example of which was exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle (see C. Payne, François Linke, 1855-1946, The Belle Epoque of French Furniture, Woodbridge, 2003, p. 151).

An example of the related vitrine (no. 905), with the addition of a gilt-bronze female mask, sold Christie's London, 24 February 2000 (£43,300).
