L'Humanine was a key French avante garde film by director Marcel L'Herbier (1890-1979). Fernand Légee (1881-1955), Cubist painter/film maker was one of the set designers. Music was composed by Darius Mihaud (1892-1974). Posters were designed by avante-garde artists of the time like Erik Aaes (b.1899) and most notably Jean Burkhalter.
