Another, smaller cast -13 cm. high-, is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 299.

Alfred Dubucand (1828-1894) was a proficient animalier producing well modelled mainly small groups of animals. His casts are modelled in a realistic way with many of his models seeming very much more alive than many of his contemporaries.
