James Bond - 007
In 1962 Sean Connery was chosen from several contenders to portray the screen incarnation of James Bond, the popular secret-agent hero of Ian Fleming's adventure novels. Connery leapt to sudden fame in the first of the Bond films Dr.No (1962). He repeated the role in several other successfull adaptations of Fleming's novels, most notably in From Russia With Love (1964) regarded by many as the best of this British-made series. Actors Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton all played 007 after Connery, some more successfully than others. However it is Sean Connery's name which has become synonomous with that of James Bond and Connery Bond posters are increasingly difficult to find.
