A KATANA and a Wakizashi KOSHIRAE
Edo Period (19th Century)
The katana koshirae with shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira, kozuka, kogai and menuki, carved in low relief and inlaid with gilt mon and karakusa, similar gilt habaki, the tsuba broad oval shakudo nanako, inlaid in low relief with gilt mon, the rim gilt, black lacquer saya; and a wakizashi koshirae, the mounts inlaid with river fish and water leaves, the saya in black lacquer, overall length 53.5cm.
