A SUPERB AND RARE CLOISONNE ENAMEL QILIN INCENSE BURNER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The mythical beast is superbly cast seated on its haunches, with a rotund body enamelled with finely shaded bright blue and turquoise scales and a strip of pink on its chest, the ridged spine with an opening and a fitted openwork cover, above the full curly tail and below the raised head detailed with a single horn, bulging eyes and mouth agape bearing sharp teeth and with furry beard and mane, the scales and wavy fur delinated by the gilt-wire cloisons
