the central shield with devices including a cross with band of speeding cannon balls with a slip off a headland over, surmounted by the Naval Crown with opposing crested helmets, and a sailor and lion holding standards either side over a banner reading Palman qui meruit ferat -- 23 x 25in. (58.5 x 63.5cm.)
