Supported on a flat base, painted in various tones of inky cobalt blue with a continuous riverscape scene depicting the painter Huang Tingjian, his friends and their young attendants engaged in leisurely pursuits, and drinking wine from cups floating down the river on lotus leaves, beside a pavillion and verdant trees among rocks, all between incised bands of a flroal scroll around the mouth and 'sawtooth'-pattern around the base, restored
